Lucas J Harger

Lucas is a film editor and partner at Bruton Stroube Studios. He asked me to develop a special portfolio website to showcase his current work. He brought much of the design to me and we worked together to refine and build it out.

The website design needed to have a monospaced font and a cycling of strange animated characters on his name when you first load the website and upon navigating to other pages. I developed a custom video player that Lucas envisioned that scrolls through an editor timeline as it plays, as if to watch the actual edit inside Adobe Premiere and seeing where each cut happens.

Development Details

This project is a static site hosted on Vercel using Next.js and with a Hygraph CMS backend for all content storage. It uses incremental static regeneration so whenever new content is added or updated in Hygraph, the site rebuilds and redeploys, so it "feels" like a dynamic website, but has all the benefits of a static site.
